About us

Who are we?

The company Perihel d.o.o. was founded on June 30th, 2006 as a joint venture of a group of young IT experts. All founders of the company are currently its employees, too.

What do we do?

Perihel offers its clients the services of design, implementation and maintenance of business oriented IT systems based on the Microsoft Dynamics NAV business solution (previously Microsoft Business Solutions - Navision). Apart from that, we offer our clients the services of design and deployment of custom business intelligence solutions (BI) built upon the Microsoft SQL Server technology.

In a lesser scope, during the phase of design and deployment of a business solution, we offer some basic services in the field of organisational and business process consulting.

If the client requires a complete IT support, and if the requirements don't exceed our capabilities, we can also offer the design and deployment of a basic network infrastructure, including the instalation and configuration of the necessary server hardware and software.

Where are we?

The company offices are located in Zagreb (Croatia) at the address Pakoštanska 3b.

Why Perihel?

Perihel (Greek helios = sun) is a position of a planet on its elliptical orbit when it is closest to the Sun. The common term in anglo-saxon terminology is Perihelion.

The symbolism

The Sun. The light. The warmth. The attractive force. Just as the Sun attracts and holds together planets in the Solar system, providing them with light and warmth, the information technology connects the companies, their departments and all participants in the business process.

Unlike the warmth of the Sun, we can't feel the warmth of distant stars. Their light that reaches us brings us images of events that passed long time ago. Similarly, a business distanced from information technology can't feel its benefits, just as an IT system isolated from business provides an outdated picture of events we might have already forgotten.

Sucessful bussiness needs information technology. Sucessful bussiness needs the business IT system. Close. As close as possible.

Emotions

In the first place we consider ourselves the information technology experts. We love the innovation IT provides to make our life and work easier. At the same time we consider ourselves the entrepreneurs. What draws us to business is the variety it brimms with.

One might say that the IT folk and entrepreneurs alike tend to gaze towards the sky, towards the Sun and the stars. Somewhere up there they may glimpse a vision of the future just waiting to be born here, on Earth, today.

The paradox

Without the Sun there would be no abundance of life that we know. Its light produces the food for our planet. Without its warmth there would be cold, darkness and death. On the other hand, to much of that same warmth destroys life. The same Sun that melts the ice in one place, creates the desert in another.

Often it's the same with information technology. These days a sucessful business may hardly exist without IT and survive to see tomorrow standing against todays tough competition. Unfortunately, poorly chosen, inadequate, overly complex or too expensive information technology that becomes self-important may choke the business to death. No exaggeration.

Our task

It is our task to aid our business partners using our expertise and experience to make the information technology a source of energy and stability for their business. It is also our task to shield that business, like a parasol, from the risks that the poor or ill timed IT decisions may present.
